A little bit of Perth…

There are some people claiming that my blog is dead… well, it’s NOT! Here comes the barrage of post! Hehehe been busy lately with work as well as doing stuff online [surfing etc] and offline [playing games, arranging jpeg & mp3s]. I guess my life DOES revolve around the computer and the internet.

Anyways, had a mini-trip in Perth, Australia some time back. Went around to see the sights and do some touristy stuff. This is a belated post… like the many more to come. All back dated. Hehehehe.

I find Perth, Australia a very nice city. The weather is great. The people are friendly. The cars are cheap! (By Asians standards) The parks, beaches… the way of life is great! In fact, if you ask me I would recommend Perth as it is a great place to live in with your family. It’s no Hong Kong, Singapore or Sydney… but I love the pace here (probably for a good couple months) hehehe. Two main things I do not really like though, the food is kinda pricey so eating out is not as ‘affordable’ as other Asian cities and the property prices here after conversion rates are pretty steep… nice suburbs like lakeside Apple Cross and beachfront Cotesloe is not cheap. They are go for mill mill (or how I would like to call it ‘miu miu’…) over a million and probably a couple more. Anyways… back to my ‘tourist’ trip. :)

View of Perth from King's Park

We went to King’s Park. Had a walk about… enjoyed the weather and a nice cuppa. Chat, laughed and enjoyed the great autumn weather. It’s now the 1st month of winter when I’m posting this… yes yes i know, i’m lagging… :P

Breakfast @ Hay Street.

Having breakfast along Hay Street. One of the busiest streets in Perth. Some of you might recognize the place… it’s in front of Melbourne Hotel in Perth. Funny eh?!?

Wonderful seafood lunch @ Cicerellos, Fremantle

Lunch at this nice seafront restaurant called Cicerellos @ Fremantle. Seafood galore… for those who love seafood this is the place. I like the weather, ambience and the whole schebang… yum yum!

Chilling out @ Cotesloe Beach

It was a chilly day, we rented a car and drove to Cotesloe Beach. Still considered to be within the Perth city vicinity. Had a walk about, enjoyed the view, blowing wind and had a cuppa as well! Nice nice… chillout time we had.

Monkeying around in Freo!

A colleague of mine was around town as well! We met up in Fremantle affectionately known to the locals as Freo. When to the Freo Markets, nice place but shopping wasn’t my thing. Then had a nice lunch before heading back to the city using the trains.

AngieBenjy!

Whats the point of visiting all the beautiful places in the world if you don’t have someone to share it with right? ( Thats why I dislike travelling alone :P ) Noticed I used ‘We’ instead of ‘Me’ in my sentences. Thanks to the person who accompanied me on this wonderful trip… my girlfriend, Angie! :) We had a blast, travelling, chatting and just being silly. walk, talk, eat, coffee, shop. Yup, that’s kinda our itinerary for the days in Perth! Good… very good…

Cross country travelling.

Today or rather yesterday/today was my first cross country travelling experience. I must say it is tiring!!! 3 countries in 2 (kinda) days.

Left Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 1600 hrs then travelled by coach for 5 hrs to Singapore. Packed my bags and left for a 0120 flight for Perth, Australia which is another 5 hrs. Nuff said. Mau tidur ahhhh…… ZZZzzzzzzz

Makan Perth.

I’m not the travelling kind… well, if i’m travelling alone that is. Whenever I travel alone, I would just sit in the hotel room and wouldn’t even bother going outside or wandering alone in a foreign town. I mean… what is there to do alone? Besides, I’m on business…

Well, things are changing now after much scolding, nagging and looks-of-disbelief from my girlfriend, friends and cousin! So I decided to walk around Perth this second visit and…. hey’s it’s not THAT bad. I’m now the expert for the 3 main streets (that I know of in Perth). Hehehe Hay St., St. Georges Trc. and Murray St.

My daily schedule around here is something like this…
0645 – wake up, get ready for work.
0705 – go breakfast in hotel.
0730 – start walk to office.
0800 – start work.
0400 - off work.
0630 – walk around town, shopping and dinner!
1100 – chillout in hotel room, online stuff and ZzzZzzz

Pretty healthy I would say and to make things interesting and ‘colour’ up my lonely one week life here, I decided to eat ’special’ dinner for the whole week. Searching in town a well as the internet for food, so far I’ve covered:

Mon - Korean (Bimbipbap) > Took-Be-Gi
Tue  – Turkish (Kebab) > Mesopotamia Kebab
Wed – Japanese (Fish Teriyaki) > Taka’s Kitchen.
Thu  – Australian (Eddy Burger) > Fast Eddy’s
         – Korean (BulGoGi Beef) > Seoul BBQ Cafe
Fri   – Australian (Eddy Burger) > Fast Eddy’s AGAIN!
         – Hotel Food (Char Grilled Scotch Fillet Steak) > Mercure Hotel

*Update 03/04 – today I covered Northbridge! I realise walking alone can be pretty much boring. After comments which I received… well, I decided to venture about. But you know what?
It’s the same?! Well, kinda… a place is just a place. But heck, it’s better than sitting in the hotel room. So the 2-hours daily walk about Perth continues! Gunned down in today’s walk is Barrack St., James St. & Perth Station. ;)

*Update 04/04 – today went back after work, no shopping althought it’s Friday Late Night Shopping. Tired and wanna rest, alot of things happened … ’nuff said. =P
